In KBK area like Nabarangpur district total no. of AI done during 2004-05 up to February is 3498. The total calves born is 1046, out of which no. of female calves is 575 and male calf is 471. The doorstep AI is being practised to cover more no. of cows / heifers under breeding programmed. The success story of which has been furnished below.

SHIFT FROM DESHI COW TO MILCH CB Jersey: 

The scenario of keeping non-descriptive Deshi milch cow has changed to rearing of high yielding cross-bred Jersey cow through out the district by successful implementation of FSAI Technology thereby enhancing the Genetic Make Up of the cows. e.g. The non-descriptive deshi cow of Mr. Biren Mandal S/o: Mr. Nepal Mandal of Raighar yielded three F1 CB calves who in turn achieving puberty gave birth to three F2 Calves yielding more than 15 liters of milk per day.
